Physical Therapy Services

To determine the best course of physical therapy services, our physical therapists take a comprehensive approach to evaluate the biomechanics of the body to identify movement dysfunction and weaknesses. Using Pilates-based methods in addition to functional exercises, they correct muscle firing patterns and imbalances to build a strong foundation and optimize movement mechanics. Individual programs are uniquely tailored to each patient’s needs. Whether it is walking through the front door or attaining a personal record in your next triathlon, they can help you reach your goals.

Pilates and Functional Exercise
Building a strong foundation in the body starts with the core. Spinal instability and muscle imbalances are a significant cause of pain and injury. Our physical therapy services in IL include Pilates-based methods and functional exercises to establish a strong inner core, optimize muscle firing patterns and progress functional strength.

Movement & Gait Analysis
All physical therapy services will begin with a thorough biomechanical evaluation which includes assessing the quality of movement. This usually involves multi-planar, multi-joint movements to challenge the core musculature.

Analysis of a patient’s walking and running mechanics may be performed during a patient’s initial evaluation. This can be a valuable tool in the assessment and rehabilitation of current injuries as well as the prevention of future injuries.

Manual Therapy
In addition to corrective exercises and strengthening, our therapists use hands-on techniques to restore mobility of the joints and soft tissues. Reducing muscle and fascial tension can decrease pain and improve the quality of the patient movement.
